When you register to the F1 in Schools Technology Challenge you are entitled to free copies of the following software: a copy of SolidWorks Student Design Kit and a copy of SolidWorks Student Edition - Computer Aided Design software. The QuickCAM -Computer Aided Manufacturing software which is sent seperately by Denford Ltd.
- SolidWorks is powerful 3D CAD software that allows teams to design cars.
- The SolidWorks Student Design Kit (one seat licence) is funtionally identical to the SolidWorks software used by indsutry professionals and includes: SolidWorks software, PhotoWorks software, SolidWorks Animator software, eDrawings software amd COSMOSXpress FEA software. The SDK also includes the following characteristics which differentiate it from the commercial version of SolidWorks: On-screen and printing features that identify both the software and the files created are for academic use only, making it unsuitable for use in a commerical environment, Limited export functionality, Limited term-of-use license and Non-renewable, non-upgradable. Please note the Student Design Kit is a 365-day term-of-use license, and will cease to function 365 days after installation or on November 30th 2009, whichever occurs earlier.
- QuickCAM 3D is a one seat licence, which you can load your car designs from SolidWorks and enables you to create the tool paths that can be processed into CNC code for use on your machine tool.
